Professional Hair

I'm considering an internship which would be awesome on my resume. I bought some really nice office clothing yesterday in anticipation of the internship, which made me consider what exactly is office appropriate hair for the long haired?

Unfortunately, long, loose hair in a professional setting tends to just look unkempt, no matter how well taken care of it is. This is especially true in a conservative career field, where you don't want to look "hippyish."

I don't want to cut my hair. I've been admiring some very chic, short styles lately, but I know I'd regret it if I cut it. So, what's a girl to do? Pin it up!

I think the nautilus bun, especially neatly braided would look fine in an office setting. In case you don't remember, here's a photo:

I think in the office setting, I would just use amish pins to hold it in place, though.

A neatly done rosebun would work well, too, although again, I would forgo the hair stick:

I think if you parted your hair on one side and lowered the buns a bit, that would look a bit more professional.

How do you wear your hair to work? Leave me a suggestion in the comments.

Oh, and to show you how old those photos are, here is a recent shot of the "baby."

They grow so fast.

  1. Exciting news and glad you are doing well. Being a guy I'm not one to offer advice (other than DON'T CUT IT), I think JJJ Longhair works in a professional setting so she would be a great resource.

Your daughter looks adorable. Good luck for you on your new experience!
