Blueberry Picking

We made a last minute trip back up to New England. I really love it here.

It's blueberry season, so we packed the kids into the Honda and hit the "PYO" scene. Okay, that sounds way cooler than it actually was. We just visited a local "pick your own" farm.

I've never been blueberry picking, but I do like blueberries. The blueberries were so cheap that we got a ton and I'm going to have to get creative to use them up before they go bad.

Incidentally, you may notice Sofie's hair is growing back nicely from that giant cut not so long ago.

Winnie's hair is growing really fast now and it's about BSL at its longest. She's never had a haircut before, so she's got quite a few different lengths going on.

  1. Do you have enough freezer space to freeze the blueberries? And by enough, I mean enough to freeze them in a single layer on a cookie sheet until frozen solid.

If do, wash and air dry berries, lay in a single layer on a cookie sheet and freeze. Then put in a container for storage. They will taste like they were just picked in the middle of January.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time!

  2. That looks like so much fun! And the children are getting so big! I remember when Winnie was just a fetus! And you are such an awesome photographer. I like the shot with Tristan holding the blueberry up.
