Wow, I got a doozy of a comment on one of my blog postings. I chose not to publish it on that particular posting, but I'm copying it here.

Find a great stylist, dye your hair and get some layers. It's great to have long hair (I do as well), but it needs to look impeccable at all times because if you just let it be, it starts to resemble an untrimmed mop.
I know my words might seem harsh, but it's the truth. I work with one of the best stylists in the country. "
Wow. I'm literally speechless. I've never been told my hair looks terrible. I've been told to cut it (mostly by my hair stylist sister,) but I get my bangs cut by stylists who always marvel at the length and health of my hair and never suggest I get layers.
What really surprises me is that I try to keep this blog as positive as possible. There's enough negativity in the world that I don't need to add to it.
I really think this boils down to a matter of beauty being in the eye of the beholder. I don't personally find layers attractive, but I would never disparage anyone who chose to get them. Hence, I choose not to get them. I won't be dying my hair. I do use henna, but for religious reasons, I do not use dye. My hair may be boring, but it's mine, after all.
